    Thank you,

Hi Alan, I like your down home approach to your videos. All I was looking for was advice on starting seeds indoors with a simple under kitchen cabinet 17 watt 24 inch grow light. I don’t plan on becoming the farmer you are but I grow a small 4×8 foot garden each year and have added peppers, herbs and lettuce in Potts and am trying to reduce the cost of buying plants each year. A six pack cost me about 3.50 and a whole pack of seeds 1.44.

As I watched your videos I wondered if my plan was just ridiculous. I have tried starting seeds before with the natural light and have failed so I thought this might help but now I see I may need a better set up with a heat mat and not as simple as I thought . . . Although your bulk seed planting idea was a winner for me only on a smaller scale.
Do you think I need to think about ramping up my plan some or could I be suscessful. Your thoughts would be welcome!

You’ll definitely need a grow light of some kind. Natural light is just not enough.
You can probably get away with not having a heat pad. Just make sure they are in a warm place when you plant them.
They need around 80F to germinate. When about 70% of them have sprouted, put them under the lights.
The lights need to be VERY close to the plants without touching… like 1″ or less.
As the plants grow taller, you’ll have to raise the lights, so they don’t touch the plants.
      Hope that helps.

Hello! We are in North Tx. We solar, recycle and repurpose as I am from a Native community and it is the way to survive. I have some Nigerian milk goats, and some Jersey Giant chickens, whom we share the milk and eggs. We have a few dormer and dormer x awassi cross sheep for tax exemption. Your down to earth aplomb in handling farm life and your animals is a skill and blessing!
We would like to add some of your lambs to our Free Range Organic Possum Farm. Will you have any for sale soon? We only have a small corral fenced around little barn we put them up at night.. Otherwise they run loose on our ten acres without fence. We recently added two unrelated Karakachan livestock guardian dogs tocour family but my retired military dog handles “the watch”. Please respond on the lambs an check out the Karakachan LTD’s. Thankyou and look forward to your great insight on Youtube!

We are planning a cheap and affordable rural electrification project in Sub Sahara Africa, that should consist of a centralized solar system to be used as charge station and battery inverter as the power source for individual homes with about 7 kWh load each

what is your idea how such project can be done ?

The project should not cost the villagers more than $10/monthly to power refrigerator, ceiling fan, 3 LED bulb and a TV/Radio

watched your fascinating video on similar project or subject in your channel

    With Kind Regards

I REALLY wish I could help you with your project. It is very admirable what you are doing.
But… I am not an electrician, or electrical engineer, or anything remotely like that.
The solar system I put together is very basic, simple and is about at the max of my skill level.
I really couldn’t answer any of your questions on the subject, except something very basic.
Do your research and find someone that is qualified to share their expertise with you.
Someone I reached out to when I built mine (to have him look at the video of it and tell me if I was “safe”) has a YouTube channel that you might want to look at and maybe ask him for direction. His channel is:

If there is anything I can help with, I’m glad to do it… but I’m afraid most of my answers would be…’Uhhh… i don’t know’.
Keep up the good work… you are helping the helpless… THAT my friend, is very commendable !
