How about a 4-5 ft. CHICKEN SNAKE in the house. Yep…it was our bright idea to take and make our new little chicks a safe haven in the den until they got bigger. We used a hot water heater leak plastic pan, encircled with chicken wire (because they are little chickens right?). My husband made a little door and a watered on the side all nice and neat. Yes right…all I can say is NEWBIE chicken farmers who need chicken farming for DUMMIES. We also have 2 older dogs with ..you got it…a doggie door outside. Welllll, late one evening about a week into this big idea all kinds of squawking and panic insued. It was crazy and everyone panicked. Dogs were barking, ckickens squeaking and flying as best they could for being little, we human folks were yelling and panicking. Here\’s a good one…we didn\’t even know at the time it was a chicken snake. For all we know it could have been a rattler or moccasin. We\’ll it was taking too long for the husband to make a wire loop to catch it and it was on its 2nd little chicken. I flung the door wider and started grabbing chicks as fast as I could. We\’ll my husband wasn\’t to be outdone so he reached in and grabbed the thing behind its head (that was a lucky grab I think!). We both could be dead and I nearly was from fright. I actually hate snakes!!! So that\’s my story and I\’m sticking to it. Thanks for all your videos. I\’m going to go get some plastic bird wire and try your trick. But here\’s the thing…that OUTDOOR Chicken House is wrapped up with so much wire and fencing nobody would believe it if they saw it! .LOL!
